On the fly-leaf is a transcript (by Bell) of a letter from Abp Whitgift to Abp Hutton, 7 June 1600, chiefly about the trial of the Earl of Essex.
As a frontispiece is stuck in an oval portrait of Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, engraved by G. Vertue.
The title-page is
Leycester's Commonwealth... etc.
