A Hymnary, most likely from Barking Abbey, to judge by the presence of three hymns for St Ethelburga, and one for St Erkenwald. [Ethelburga was the first abbess of Barking. One of the hymns also mentions Hildelith, her successor and primary dedicatee of Aldhelm] |
