The flyleaf is interesting, as being the first leaf of another copy of the Apocalypse written by the scribe of this book, with a space left for a picture at the same point in the text. The same phenomenon is to be seen in the Apocalypse at Corpus Christi College no. xx. There is no gloss on the text here.
The first three pictures in the book are in silver frames, and the first and third are admirably drawn. Several artists have been employed on the book, but all are much inferior to this one.
In most cases there is a direction to the artist written on the margin in red. The grounds of the pictures are usually blue or pink with chequer lines and white dots.
1. hic iacebit in pathmos. John bearded, in bed. Angel flies down with scroll, red water surrounds the picture.
2. vii ecclesie cum angelis. The seven Churches, spired and turreted, each with a demi-angel in the west door. In two rows, 4 above and 3 below.

7. hic infernus sequens eum}
8. hic equus pallidus } These pictures go together, that on the R. hand page has only the picture of Death in a green linen garment brandishing a sword and holding a white stone. A handkerchief is bound round his head. This is a better picture and is very vigorous.
The other on the L. hand page represents Hell as a monster consisting of the usual huge head with mouth full of souls, on two short legs. There are three devils on the top.
The Eagle in air is treated like the Lion and Ox above.
